Institutional Security Architecture

Data Protection & Security Standards

Security controls are configured according to project sensitivity, selected data-collection platform, hosting architecture, and commissioning organization requirements.

Core Security & Data Governance Controls

Where supported by the selected platform and client infrastructure, DataTech configures encrypted transmission, restricted server permissions, device-level access protection, and project-specific backup controls.

Role-Based Access & Permissions

Granular permission segmentation across enumerator accounts, supervisor validation logins, and project administrator dashboards.

  • Enumerators restricted to submission-only privileges (no dataset download) where supported
  • Supervisor accounts assigned strictly to regional cluster assignments
  • Centralized administrative account handover to commissioning agency

Field Device & Transport Encryption

Multi-layer protection safeguarding survey data from initial field collection through cloud server synchronization.

  • Encrypted data transit (TLS/HTTPS) configured where supported by server and platform
  • Form-level public-key encryption options for high-sensitivity survey instruments
  • Device PIN protections and offline storage configurations aligned with project protocols

PII De-Identification & Anonymization

Systematic removal and separation of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before dataset transmission and analysis.

  • Replacement of respondent names and phone numbers with unique UUIDs
  • GPS jittering / cluster aggregation for public reporting and dissemination
  • Separate key storage for longitudinal study callback tracking

Backup, Archival & Data Destruction

Scheduled redundant backups during live fieldwork and compliant data handoff protocols upon project completion.

  • Automated or scheduled server snapshot backups in accordance with hosting agreements
  • Deliverable packaging with raw, cleaned, and syntax audit files
  • Formal data purge from consultant working environments after final sign-off
